Consultation, scan and X-ray
The dentist checks your teeth with a digital scan and a panoramic X-ray. You hear the plan and the cost before anything starts.
Getting your teeth ready
If you need a cleaning, a filling or an extraction first, that is done before braces go on.
Fitting day
A bracket is bonded to each tooth and a thin wire is threaded through. The fitting itself does not usually hurt.
Adjustments, about once a month
The wire is adjusted a little at each visit. Most treatment takes about one to three years, depending on your teeth.
Braces off, retainers on
When your teeth have moved, the braces come off and you are given retainers to hold them in place.

You wear retainers. Teeth tend to drift after braces come off, and retainers hold them where they have settled.
Paano alagaan ang braces?
Brush after every meal, around each bracket and along the gumline. Use an interdental brush or floss threader to clean under the wire. Avoid hard and sticky food, which can loosen a bracket. Keep your monthly adjustment visits, and message us if a bracket comes loose or a wire pokes.
