Magkano ang braces? What the fee depends on

The short answer

There is no single price for braces, because the fee depends on your own teeth: how much they need to move, how long that takes, and what needs doing first. You find out your estimate at your consultation, after a digital scan and a panoramic X-ray, before anything starts.

Bakit walang presyo sa website?

Because two people who both "need braces" can need very different things. One may need a few teeth moved over about a year; another may need more movement over about three years, with extra work first. Quoting one figure for both would be a guess.

That is also why we cannot give a price over Messenger from a photo. The dentist needs to see your teeth, roots and jaw first, and that takes a scan and an X-ray.

What changes the fee

  • How much your teeth need to move. More movement usually means a longer treatment, and most braces treatment takes about one to three years.
  • How many adjustment visits that takes. The wire is adjusted about once a month, for as long as your treatment lasts.
  • What needs doing first. A cleaning, fillings or an extraction are done before braces go on, if you need them.
  • Retainers afterwards. Every patient wears retainers when the braces come off, to hold the teeth where they have settled.
  • Braces or clear aligners. Some cases can be treated with either; some move better with braces. The scan and X-ray show which suits you.

What happens at the consultation

The dentist checks your teeth with a digital scan, which takes a few minutes and uses no putty, and a panoramic X-ray, which takes under a minute. These show how your teeth sit and how far they need to move.

Then the dentist explains the plan: what will be done, roughly how long it takes, and an estimated cost or range for your case. You hear the plan and the cost before anything starts, and you can take time to think it over before you decide.

Why it is an estimate, not a fixed price

Teeth do not always move exactly as planned, and no one can promise how a body will respond. Sometimes treatment takes longer or needs more than the first plan expected. The estimate is the dentist's honest reading of your case at the start, and the consent form you read before starting explains what happens if your case goes beyond the plan.

Paano ang bayad?

Cash and e-wallets are accepted. For long treatments such as braces, payment is spread across your visits. We go through the details with you at your consultation.

Questions worth asking at your consultation

  • About how long will my treatment take?
  • What does the estimate include, and does it cover the work needed before braces and the retainers afterwards?
  • How is payment spread across my visits?
  • Would clear aligners suit my teeth, or only braces?
  • What happens if my treatment takes longer than planned?

One thing we ask

Braces move teeth through the bone, so they should only be fitted by a dentist, after an X-ray. Whoever you go to, ask to see your X-ray and have the plan explained before anything starts.
